Background

I'm a frontend engineer currently working remotely from Romania, specializing in React and Vue.js. My journey into software development has been anything but conventional, and I think that's what makes my perspective unique.

In 2017, I made a career transition from project management in interior design to software engineering. The shift wasn't easy—I spent countless hours learning through online courses, building projects, and finding mentors who believed in career changers. But that background in design and project coordination gave me something invaluable: an understanding of how to bridge the gap between what users need and what technology can deliver.

Along the way, I founded an e-commerce business, which taught me the entrepreneurial side of tech—user research, conversion optimization, and the importance of shipping products that people actually want to use. These experiences shaped how I approach frontend development today: with empathy for users, appreciation for good design, and a focus on solving real problems.

Now I build scalable web applications, architect component libraries, and collaborate with teams across Europe and North America. I love working in the frontend space because it sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and user experience—exactly where my background has prepared me to thrive.

Education

London School of Economics (2010-2013)
BSc in Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Methodology - 2:1

This interdisciplinary degree sits at the intersection of philosophy, mathematics, and the sciences. I studied formal logic, symbolic systems, philosophy of science, and the methodology behind how we acquire and validate knowledge. The program emphasized rigorous analytical thinking, breaking down complex problems into their fundamental components, and constructing sound arguments from first principles.

While it might seem like an unconventional background for software engineering, the skills are surprisingly transferable. Formal logic trains you to think in precise, systematic ways—exactly what you need when debugging code or designing system architectures. The focus on methodology and scientific reasoning translates directly into how I approach problem-solving: breaking down requirements, testing hypotheses, and iterating based on evidence.

More importantly, studying philosophy taught me to question assumptions, consider edge cases, and think about problems from multiple perspectives—skills that prove invaluable when designing user interfaces or collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Beyond Code

When I'm not building web applications, you'll find me practicing yoga and pilates, exploring nature on road trips, or working on DIY projects. I share my home with two dogs and a cat who, remarkably, all get along!

I'm passionate about continuous learning and staying current with the latest frontend technologies. I'm currently exploring iOS development and building mobile apps in my spare time.
